Mitchell Interchange Ramp to close long-term February 11, 2011

Mitchell Interchange Ramp to close long-term February 11, 2011

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) reminds motorists that the Mitchell Interchange system ramp from I-894 Eastbound (EB) to I-43/94 Northbound (NB) in Milwaukee County is scheduled to close beginning the night of February 11, 2011, weather-permitting. This long-term system ramp closure is needed as WisDOT continues reconstruction of the I-94 North-South Freeway, including the Mitchell Interchange. The ramp is scheduled to be closed until late December 2011.

"Crews will be constructing a roadway tunnel along the ramp from I-894 EB to I-43/94 NB, as part of the Mitchell Interchange reconstruction that includes two new tunnels," said Ryan Luck, WisDOT construction chief.

MCTS operators to wear green and gold this weekend

MCTS operators to wear green and gold this weekend

What do Donald Driver and your Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) bus driver have in common? Both will be sporting green and gold this weekend to celebrate the Green Bay Packers advancing to the NFC Championship Game.

MCTS operators working shifts on Friday, January 21 through Sunday, January 22 will be permitted to add some Packers flair to their regular uniforms, in the form of hats, ties, sweaters, sweatshirts, or jerseys.

MCTS buses are already decked in green and gold as part of their paint scheme, and will continue to provide the safe, reliable and efficient service riders expect as they head out to watch the game.

For those lucky fans heading to Chicago for the game via Amtrak, Route 57 (Walnut-N. 92nd) will get you to the Intermodal Station downtown and Route 80 (6th St.) takes you to the airport, where you can catch a shuttle to the station there.
